1. Hispano Suiza Carmen Boulogne
- Price: $1,900,000
- Brand: Hispano Suiza
- Category: Cars

the Hispano Suiza Carmen and its more powerful sibling, the Carmen Boulogne, two exclusive electric vehicles that combine luxury, performance, and striking design. Crafted by Barcelona-based QEV Technologies, the company is helmed by Miguel Suqué Mateu, the great-grandson of Hispano Suiza co-founder Damián Mateu, ensuring a direct connection to the legendary automaker's heritage.
Production and Pricing:
A limited run of 19 regular Carmen models will be produced, boasting 1005 bhp and a pre-tax price of €1.5 million. Additionally, only five Carmen Boulogne models will be made, featuring 1099 bhp, a more dynamic focus, and a pre-tax price of €1.65 million.
Construction:
The Carmen boasts an extensively carbon-intensive construction, with its bodywork, central monocoque structure, and front and rear subframes all made from woven composite. Its all-round double wishbone suspension components are crafted from aircraft-grade aluminum alloy.
Powertrain:
Uniquely, the Carmen is rear-driven, powered by four lightweight permanent-magnet synchronous electric motors. Each rear wheel is driven by a pair of motors through a single-speed reduction gearbox. The motors are connected via a "virtual differential" traction management program, allowing for torque vectoring.
Battery and Charging:
The vehicle features an 80 kWh T-shaped battery positioned behind the passenger compartment and in a central tunnel between the seats. The 700-cell, 700V lithium-ion pack supports DC fast-charging at speeds of up to 80 kW, allowing for a 30-80% charge in just 30 minutes. Hispano Suiza aims for a 250-mile range under the WLTP test protocol.
Design and Interior:
Inspired by the 1938 H6C Dubonnet Xenia, the Carmen's design is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic vehicle. The interior is accessed through power-operated butterfly doors, revealing a luxurious cabin with high-quality finishes and idiosyncratic details such as a triangular push-button gear selector.
Driving Experience:
The Carmen Boulogne, designed as a track-suited version, delivers impressive speed and performance. While the vehicle is eerily silent, it boasts excellent dynamic stability, traction, and smooth torque-biasing.
Exclusivity:
With only a handful of units produced, the Hispano Suiza Carmen and Carmen Boulogne ensure exclusivity and distinction for the discerning buyer. While not as performance-focused as some competitors, the emphasis on design and luxury sets these vehicles apart.
